I build things because waiting for someone else to do it stopped making sense.

My entire life I was told Albuquerque was up and coming — the next Phoenix, the next Dallas. That never came. So I stopped waiting and started building.

It started in college, when I founded the Asian American Students Association — trying to create some sense of community where there wasn't one. The administration took notice, and the movement helped push for the Asian Pacific Islander Resource Center that followed. That was the first time I understood what it meant to make people feel seen in a place that often overlooked them.

Now I'm thinking bigger. The same instinct that built a student org is building a district. Not because Albuquerque is becoming something — but because I think it already is, and I'd rather be part of that than watch it from the sideline. The city is at a real cultural inflection point. Industries are paying attention. I happen to have my roots here, and I'm not taking that for granted.

By trade I'm a video producer — years behind cameras telling stories for science, music, and brands. That eye for framing carries into everything else: a storefront, a dessert, a retail display. The work changes. The instinct doesn't.
